South-South Youth Leader Calls for Reinstatement of Governor Fubara, Demands Apology from FCT Minister

The National President of the South South Youth Initiative, Oscar Saviour Imeabe, has urged the people of Rivers State to intensify advocacy efforts for the reinstatement of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, warning that any further delay could endanger the governor’s return after six months of emergency rule.

Imeabe, who was speaking as a guest on Rhythm’s News and Current Affairs Programme, View Point, expressed concerns over the prolonged political crisis in the state, which he said has paralyzed governance and development activities.

He specifically called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to publicly apologize to the people of Rivers State for his alleged role in the political conflict that has destabilized the state’s administration.

Imeabe lamented that the situation in Rivers has led to the abandonment of critical projects and services. He cited the Bori General Hospital as an example, claiming that the facility has been vandalized and is no longer functional due to the prevailing political impasse.

He warned that if decisive action is not taken to resolve the crisis, the state’s socio-economic stability would suffer further setbacks, leaving residents to bear the brunt of political power tussles.
