South-South Governors, PDP Mourn Bayelsa Deputy Governor

The South-South Governors’ Forum and the Peoples Democratic Party have mourned the death of the Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who died on Thursday in Yenagoa.

Ewhrudjakpo was reported to have slumped in his office at the Government House before being rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, where he was confirmed dead.

The PDP described his passing as a shock and a major loss to the party and the state, praising him as a loyal and dedicated leader. The party extended condolences to his family, Governor Douye Diri, and the people of Bayelsa State.

The South-South Governors’ Forum also expressed grief, saying the deputy governor died while performing his official duties. They prayed for strength for his family and colleagues during the difficult time.

Tributes have continued to pour in as Bayelsa and the wider political community mourn the late deputy governor.
