President ZUMA won the vote yesterday despite the decision by the Parliamentary Speaker to adopt a secret ballot in deciding whether or not he should continue in office.
The motion, which was called amid several allegations of corruption, was defeated by one hundred and ninety-eight votes to one hundred and seven.
However; it emerged that about forty MPs of the governing African National Congress either voted against ZUMA or abstained, which fell short by ten ANC MPs that would have enabled the vote to succeed.
The rebel ANC parliamentarians have been receiving a backlash, with growing agitations for their recall.
The police minister FIKILE MBALULA described the anti-ZUMA parliamentarians as suicide bombers who want to compromise the revolution.
