There was also a second explosion after police shot at a speeding minibus when the driver failed to stop at a checkpoint.
The attacks comes after a weekend of turmoil, as hundreds of Somali soldiers protested in Mogadishu over unpaid salaries, blocking roads and forcing businesses to close.
