Sokoto village head Abubakar Ibrahim in trouble, arrested with Illicit drugs

A statement by spokesman of the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, revealed that Ibrahim was among eleven suspects arrested in interdiction operations in which Nine Hundred and Ninety One Thousand Three Hundred and Twenty pills of pharmaceutical opioids and one thousand two hundred and fifty one kilo grammes of cannabis and khat as well as forty six point six three seven kilograms of meth-amphetamine, cocaine and heroin were recovered by operatives of the NDLEA across seven states.

The thirty eight year old village head was arrested in Bodinga town same day with three kilogrammes of cannabis sativa and four thousand tablets of exol-5.

Meanwhile, at the MurtalaMuhammed International Airport, Ikeja Lagos, NDLEA operatives attached to the SAHCO import shed on Wednesday 26th October intercepted a total of fifteen cartons containing eight hundred and two thousand pills of Tramadol imported from Dubai, UAE and Karachi, Pakistan.

Other drug suspects were also arrested and the drugs seized in various parts of the country within the past week.

The chairman and chief executive of the NDLEA, Buba Marwa in the meantime has commended men of the agency for their effort in ridding the country of illicit drugs.
