The Command Public Relations officer Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement said operatives of the Command, acted on actionable information that one of the suspects was about to be lynched to death by an angry mob in Edoaha community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state.
Iringe-Koko said subsequently, a team of policemen swung into action to rescue the suspect who was about to be burnt with a tyre on his neck.
He was rescued and brought to the police station in Ahoada where he made a useful statement.
The statement said the suspect was later transferred to the state Criminal Investigative Department for discrete investigation, with a view to apprehending the fleeing kingpin, and his gang members, and recovering their operational weapons.
The suspect was sighted in a video confessing to how their leader, 2Baba gets his arms and ammunition.
