The state chapter of Igbo socio-cultural group said it was fully backing the Enugu State Government in its efforts to end the sit-at-home in the state, insisting that the protest had outlived its usefulness.
A factional leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra, led by a Finland-based pro-Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa, who styled himself as the Biafran Prime Minister of Biafra Republic Government in Exile, has been enforcing Monday sit-at-home, which the main IPOB group led by Chika Edoziem had since cancelled.
The factional group had insisted on the sit-at-home as a way of calling for the release of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who is being detained by the Department of State Services since June 2021.
