The BBC quoted eyewitnesses saying they saw people trapped inside the burning tower, in north Kensington, screaming for help, and shouting for their children to be saved.
PAUL WOODROW of the London Ambulance said more than fifty people are being treated in hospital.
On her part, the London Fire Commissioner, DANNY COTTON, said investigations have begun to determine the actual cause of the fire and the stability of the building.
