The order was made by a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos base on an application filed by a civil rights group – the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP.
SERAP approached the court to obtain the order following allegations of mismanagement and diversion of the debt refunds by the benefiting state governments.
While granting the relief sought by SERAP, Justice MUSLIM HASSAN said it was important for the authorities to come and tell the public how they spent the money.
Justice HASSAN has also fixed hearing on the motion on notice for 14th of September, including arguments on why the government should not be compelled to details of projects on which the Paris Club loan refunds were spent.
