Senator Ita Inang Dismisses claims of Presidential aids lined to testify against two Senate principal Officers

Senator ENANG made the clarification while briefing journalist at the National Assembly in Abuja; although he confirmed that he would be testifying in his capacity as a former Senator.

The former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Rule and Business said the Seventh Senate where he served did not amend the Senate Standing Rules to its present form.

The former Senator from Akwa Ibom State also confirmed that he had been invited by the police for interrogation as a suspect in the alleged alteration of the Standing Rules.

The Presidential Assistant equally apologized to Nigerians for recent comments by the Special Adviser to the President on Legal Matters, OKOY OBLA, who said the Senate lacked the powers to summon the Attorney General of the Federation.

OBLA made the vexed comments when he represented the Attorney General of the Federation at the hearing of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Legal Matters, which forced the federal lawmakers to ask him to leave.
