An informed source told our correspondent JAMES IGAH that the meeting was meant to forge ways to unite the federal legislature.
Our source said the meeting last night lasted about two and a half hours at the private residence of Senate President; Doctor BUKOLA SARAKI.
It was learnt that some principal officers of the Senate attended the meeting, alongside their counterparts from the House of Representatives who were led by the Speaker, YAKUBU DOGARA.
The lawmakers agreed that the two chambers should always take common position on issues and present a united front on all national discourse.
The economic recession in the country was discussed and it was agreed that the House of Representatives should also take time to deliberate on the development and come out with recommendations.
They also agreed to fast-track various bills awaiting concurrence in the two chambers before they are presented to President MUHAMMADU BUHARI for assent.
