It is also the desire of the Senate to make room for average Nigerians to access quality healthcare services at subsidized rates.
This was made known by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Senator OLANREWAJU TEJUOSHO while briefing newsmen at the Senate.
Senator TEJUOSHO said the position of the Senate is in line with the African Union Abuja Declaration of 2001, which recommends a minimum of fifteen percent of total annual budgets of member countries to be dedicated to health.?
The federal lawmaker expressed concern over the budgetary allocation to health, which he described as ?grossly inadequate, adding also that poor utilization of health capital budget was unacceptable. ?
