The move by the Senate to probe the two establishments was based on a motion moved by Senator DINO MELAYE of the APC from Kogi West.
Senator MELAYE expressed shock that some individuals could hold back such large amount of money when the Federal Government is planning to borrow from external sources.
Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the move to probe the allegation was supported by all the Senators who were present during plenary today.
In his remarks; the Senate President, BUKOLA SARAKI called for an end to such acts of sabotage against the anti-corruption drive of the current administration, as well as efforts by the anti-corruption agencies.
Senator SARAKI also asked the Joint Investigative Committee to do a thorough job and submit a report on the findings by 9th of January, next year.
