Senate postpones meeting with service chiefs

This was disclosed by the Senate President Ahmad Lawanat plenary yesterday.

 

 

LAWAN said the security chiefs, who are supposed to brief the Senate, were engaged at the National Security Council meeting held at the Presidential villa.

 

 

The Senate last Tuesday, after an exhaustive debate, resolved to invite the heads of the nation’s Armed Forces and other security agencies over the deteriorating security situation in the country.

 

 

It had also resolved that its leadership should meet with President Muhammdu Buhari, to seek ways of mitigating the security challenges ravaging the country.
