The Senate ad hoc committee investigating financial recklessness in the NDDC made the recommendation in its report presented to the Upper chamber.
Senate adhoc Committee Chairman, Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi, who presented the report said the NDDC spent one point three trillion naira between 2015 and May 31, 2019.
He added that the Committee observed process errors and infractions, as well as substantial payments, were made to staff in the form of what he said are unjustifiable allowances, which according to him must be refunded.
But some Senators including; Senator Smart Adeyemi of Kogi West recommended the punishments in the Sharia and Mossaic Law for indicted corrupt public officials which proposes amputation or death sentence.
Senate President Ahmed Lawan in his submission said the National Assembly will ensure that the NDDC is made to achieve it set objective.
