The Budget Reform Committee headed by Senator ALI NDUME has membership drawn from the executive arm of government, professionals and the academia.
During the inauguration the committee, Senator SARAKI expressed concern that the budgeting processes over the years have been marred by irregularities, resulting in inadequate implementation of approved estimates.
Senator SARAKI said the establishment of the technical committee was informed by the need to chart a new course for effective implementation of future budgets.
He charged the committee to come up with a Budget Bill that would create a roadmap for timely passage and implementation of budgets, among other things.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the committee, Senator ALI NDUME promised that members would work towards addressing concerns raised by the senate leadership.
