Sen Goje House raid:Police denies meddling with 2017 appropriation bill.

The Force Headquarters said the recent search on the home of Senator DANJUMA GOJE, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, has nothing to do with the 2017 Budget.

Force Public Relations Officer, JIMOH MOSHOOD, gave this indication while reacting to media reports credited to Senator GOJE, explaining to the Senate in plenary that his committee could not conclude work on the budget because of interference by the Police.

JIMOH MOSHOOD said a review of all thirty-eight files taken away during the search of GOJE’s home in Abuja as well as the computer laptop that was also confiscated by the police shows no link to the 2017 Budget, .

MOSHOOD said the search warrant on Senator GOJE’s house was successfully executed in the presence of three close relatives of the Senator who reside within.

The Force spokesman said in addition to the files and laptop, the police team recovered various sums of money in local and foreign currencies from Senator GOJE’s home.

In a statement obtained by our correspondent; the Force spokesman said the Inspector General of Police, IBRAHIM IDRIS yesterday honoured the invitation of the National Assembly to explain the legality of the search warrant executed on the house of Senator DANJUMA GOJE on the 20th of April.
