This followed a motion moved by Senator SAM EGWU from Ebonyi State who painted a picture of disrepair and collapse of the dual carriage way, thereby making causing a nightmare for travelers.
Senator EGWU expressed worry that the collapse of the road had virtually cut off South Eastern states from other parts of the country.
The PDP Senator urged the Federal Government to begin rehabilitation of the road, based on which the Senate resolved that its Committee on Works should ascertain the level of disrepair of the road and report back.
