Senator ALBERT AKPAN was elected to represent Uyo Senatorial District, but his election has been nullified by a Federal High Court sitting in Uyo.
The Court, presided over by Justice FATUN RIMAN, also declared BASSEY ETIM also of the PDP as the authentic candidate of the party for the 2015 election.
The ruling was delivered based on a matter brought before the court by BASSEY ETIM, challenging the decision by the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission for wrongly substituting his name in the PDP primary election.
Before the judgment was delivered; Senator BASSEY ALBERT AKPAN had petitioned the National Judicial Council over alleged bias by Justice FATUN RIMAN of the Federal High Court in Uyo.
