Our correspondent gathered that a combined team of security operatives in collaboration with youths in Omoku town invaded suspected hideouts in the area, killing some hoodlums, arrested some while some escaped with bullet wounds.
Confirming the incident to our correspondent, the caretaker committee chairman of ONELGA, OSI OLISA, warned the youths against being used by politicians for selfish interest.
He advised the political class to use their positions to attract development instead of causing destruction in the area.
OLISA while describing 2017 as a year of blessing, urged residents of the state to support the government of the day which he said is determined to attract dividend of democracy.
OLISA in a swift reaction denied knowledge of the purported murder of a chieftain of the Peoples’ Democratic Party and former youth president in the area, stressing that the incident is yet to be confirmed.
Our correspondent also gathered that over thirty one Ak47 rifles and a police uniform were recovered during the operation.
