Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the protesters under the umbrella of the Bring-Back-Our-Girls initiative were led by former Minister of Education, OBY EZEKWESILI.
However; as they marched along the way to register their complaint with the Federal Authorities, the group met a wall of resistance from a combined team of security operatives drawn from the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
During the exchange that followed, the leader of the Police detachment, C.S.P CHUKS OBASI explained that their mission was to prevent the outbreak of violence.
The latest demonstration is in line with the promise made by the BBOG after the Boko Haram released a new video showing some of the schoolgirls who were abducted from Chibok in Borno State over two years ago.
The BBOG had lined up activities spread across fourteen days in its fresh push to compel the Federal Government under President MUHAMMAD BUHARI to take more drastic steps to rescue the abducted girls from the Boko Haram terrorists.
