Recall that we brought you a report earlier that at least one person was feared dead and several housed destroyed in cult clashes at Akwukadi community.
A source from the community told our correspondent that the Rivers State Police Command has deployed mobile policemen in the community to forestall further violence and destruction.
Our source said security operatives have taken over strategic points in the area, while subjecting vehicles moving in and out of the community to security checks.
The Police Public Relations Officer, NNAMDI OMONI also told our correspondent on telephone that normalcy has since been restored at Akwukadi community.
OMONI, who is a Deputy Superintendent of Police, also urged inhabitants of the community not to panic but go about their normal businesses.
He also appealed to those who fled their homes to return, assuring that the security operatives would remain in the community to ensure a lasting peace.
