SDP governorship candidate recounts contributions of Ken Saro Wiwa

Senator Abe said this on the 30th anniversary of Ogoni Day.

The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party said the people of Ogoni will not relent in their struggle for political emancipation.

He said the Ogoni have paid their dues in the political arena in Rivers State and that it was time for the Rivers people to support them in their quest for the number one seat in the state.

In the meantime, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Tonye Cole hailed the people of Ogoni for sustaining the struggle for their rights.

He said it was the resilience of the Ogoni People that brought about the recognition of indigenous people all over the world.

The thirtieth Ogoni Day Celebration- tagged ‘ Unity of Purpose ‘ was graced by political and religious leaders, as well as traditional rulers amongst other dignitaries.
