There are however mixed reports on the casualty figure, with the Cross Rivers State Police Command claiming that about eighteen injured person, while other independent sources are reporting over fifty victims evacuated from the scene.A source close to the scene who spoke to our correspondent on telephone said preliminary investigations by the police suggest that a faulty gas cylinder may have sparked the explosion. But other observers are of the view what the blast could be much more than a faulty gas cylinder.
