Senator SARAKI gave the charge when the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor MAHMOOD YAKUBU, who doubles as President of the regional ECONEC, led other members of the sub-regional electoral body on a visit to the National Assembly in Abuja.
SARAKI said the expectation of the Senate is that ECONEC would foster electoral processes within the sub-region that meet international best practices, which can be exported to other continents.?
The Senate President said since credible election is a panacea for good governance and stability, the role of ECONEC was crucial in the political stability of the sub-region.
