Rwanda,France in a diplomatic face off .

This comes in form of opening of formal investigation of involvement of twenty French officials in the 1994 genocide that claimed the lives of more than eight hundred thousand people.

Rwanda’s Chief Prosecutor RICHARD MUHUMUZA said French authorities had been contacted and full co-operation was expected.

MUHUMUZA said the individuals are required by the prosecution authority to explain or provide clarity on allegations of complicity against them.

Relations between the Rwanda and France have been strained since the mass killings, with the French government receiving knocks from its former African colony.
