This followed a ruling by Justice T.S OJI of the State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, nullifying the use of caretaker committee to administer the affairs of the town.
Our correspondent reports that Justice ORJI declared that the Caretaker Committee of Rumukurushi Town Council is unlawful, unconstitutional, null and void.
The Court therefore declared that KINGSLEY EJEKWU is the validly elected Chairman of the town council and should be immediately sworn-in by a Paramount Ruler of Rumukwurushi.
Justice Oji also awarded the sum of one hundred thousand naira in favour of EJEKWU as cost, just as he was also ordered to conduct an election to constitute the executive of the Rumukwurushi town council.
The dispute over the Rumukurushi town council goes back to 2012, with different groups laying claim to the leadership of the council.
