The Chairman of RSIEC, Retired Justice George Omereji said the Commission is 98% ready for the conduct of the April 17, 2021 Local Government Council polls.
Justice Omereji expressed the Commission’s readiness for the elections when he received members of the House of Assembly Committee on Commissions and Agencies, where he revealed that the Commission has put on ground measures ahead of the elections.
The RSIEC boss reassured the commitment of the commission to conduct free and fair election, adding that the process of selecting ad-hoc staff is almost concluded.
Omereji acknowledged receipt of letter from the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State indicating their non participation in the forthcoming Local Government Council elections.
