Rivers workers lament over alleged neglect by state Government

Speaking with Today Fm’s Chinedu Iwunna some labour leaders in the state decried continued delay in the implementation of the thirty thousand naira minimum wage, non-promotion of workers and non-payment of gratuities to retired workers.

The chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress Beatrice Itubo believes the state government has not treated workers fairly.

On his part, the state chairman of the Nigeria Civil Service Union, Chuks Osummah wondered why the state government has refused to implement the report of the tripartite committee set to negotiate the minimum wage in the state.
