Rivers Women Unite for SIM Call for End to Emergency Rule

Women in Rivers State, under the platform of Rivers Women Unite for SIM, have called for an end to the state of emergency imposed on the state since March.

Speaking at their monthly prayer session held at the Ecumenical Center in Port Harcourt, the women prayed for mercy and peace to prevail, expressing hope in God for the lifting of the emergency rule and the restoration of the governor and members of the State House of Assembly.

With the theme “Divine Mercy and Peace,” the group noted that Rivers people have endured six months of emergency rule and appealed for divine intervention to bring a return to normalcy.

The Media Officer of the group, Glory Sunday, thanked God for the peace and reconciliation already recorded among leaders in the state. She also prayed for the people of Rivers, Nigeria as a whole, and for strength for families across the state.
