A teacher who spoke on the condition of anonymity told Today FM’s Sandra Kenneth that after ten years of being employment by the state government, they were given double promotion but paid less.
The teacher also lamented that workers in Junior Secondary Schools are paid less than those in Senior Secondary, despite being on higher grade level.
He also stated that a civil servant in grade level 12 is expected to earn above two hundred thousand naira, but frowned at the fact that they earn less than one hundred and twenty thousand naira.
Reacting to the issues raised by the teachers, a stakeholder in the UBE Board who also did not want his name mentioned, advised the aggrieved teachers to take administrative steps in resolving their issues, admitting there were errors due to the haste in the promotion process.
