In the latest operations; policemen stormed Rumuohia village in Emohua Local Government Area and arrested one OMUNAKWE UCHENDU on suspicion of kidnapping.
The thirty-one-years-old suspect is alleged to be the leader of Green Landers Cult group, and has been on the wanted list of security agents for various offences, including Armed Robbery and Kidnapping.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP OMONI NNAMDI confirmed the arrest of the suspect in a statement obtained by our correspondent.
DSP OMONI also confirmed the arrest of one THANKGOD VICTOR from Ihuboloko community in Ahoada-East Local Government Area who purportedly confessed to be the leader of a gang of criminals operating in that area.
The Police statement also claims that THANKGOD VICTOR and his gang members were responsible for the killing of a Police Officer identified as Corporal OYONG OBLA who was attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit at Erema.
Following the development; the Rivers State Police Command urged residents of the state to sustain their confidence in the Police, with the assurance of their safety and security as they go about their lawful activities.
