The Police Public Relations Officer, NNAMDI OMONI, disclosed in a statement obtained by our correspondent that the suspect identified as KELVIN GOODLUCK was arrested yesterday evening in the company of two others.
OMONI said GOODLUCK was intercepted while driving a suspected stolen car, and upon interrogation, led detectives to a car dealership in Osisioma area of Aba in Abia State where CHIBUNA ONYEMA and LAMBERT NWODU were arrested and eight suspected stolen cars recovered from them.
In a separate operation; the PPRO said operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit tracked down a kidnapping gang at a forest around Umuebulu, in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The detectives rescued AMADI OKEY, STANLEY ODIOYE and PRINCESS MADUEGBULAM who were in blindfold and under guard by four armed men.
The police spokesman said the hoodlums engaged the policemen in a gun battle, with two of the kidnapers killed, but two others escaped with bullet wounds.
