Rivers state judiciary to dispose abandoned properties

The Judiciary urged members of the public, whose properties are abandoned or parked within the court premises to visit the office of the Deputy Chief Registrar Litigation to arrange for immediate removal.

The Chief Registrar of the Rivers State Judiciary, David Ihua-Maduenyi, in a statement, warned that any property not claimed by its owner within seven days will be disposed without further notice.

The statement also disclosed that a designated magistrate court will from 8th of November 2022; embark on prison de-congestion in Degema and Ahoada correctional facilities.

Ihua-Maduenyi said the designated magistrates will also on the 10th and 11th of November, visit the Port Harcourt Correctional Center to carry out the exercise which he said includes inmates who are incarcerated for non capital offences.
