The speaker of the house, Owaji Ibani in his submission said the budget policy statement as submitted to the house will promote economic development in the state.
Owaji Ibani also said part of the objective of the statement is to create a peaceful society and to promote the rule of law.
The speaker added that the total budget for the 2023 fiscal year is over five hundred billion naira.
Earlier during the debate, the leader of the house, Martins Amaewhule said the state is expected to sustain the current budget reform program.
Today FM’s Preye Izogu reports that the house adjourned sitting till 21st of November when the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike may present the 2023 appropriation bill.
