You will recall that the security guards had on Friday last week advised parents and guardians not to bother sending their children and wards to schools beginning from today due to outstanding four months unpaid salaries and other related issues.
However; a spokesman for the group, GODSWILL NWUKE told our correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR that officials of the Ministry of Education intervened over the weekend and promised to clear the salary arrears within the week.
NWUKE further threatened that if at the end of the week nothing was done, the model schools security guards would go ahead with their original plan to shut down the schools.
GODSWILL NWUKE is the spokesman for aggrieved security guards of Model Primary Schools in Rivers State.
