Rivers State government takes overprosecution of suspected cultist Confidence Kirinee

In the charges read out in court, Confidence Kirinee who is popularly called General ILLA and others who are still on the run, had on the 5th of March, 2019 in a community in Khana Local Government Area conspired among themselves to kidnapped and killed one Muenalo Sunday.

Today FM reports that the accused person pleaded not guilty to the four counts charge and the trial judge, Justice Augusta Kingsley-Chukwu before adjourning for definite hearing; directed that the suspect be remanded in the Port Harcourt Correctional Center.

Speaking to Today FM outside the courtroom, prosecution counsel, Precious Ordu gave reasons why the state took over the prosecution of the matter.

Confidence Kirinee was first arraigned before a Magistrate court presided over by Chief Magistrate G.C Amadi who declined jurisdiction because of the nature of the charges and ordered that the case file be transmitted to the Department of Public Prosecution.
