Rivers State Vaccination Officer at the Primary Health Care Management Board, Doctor Joseph Urang made the clarification following recent claims by some nursing mothers that they were charged to pay for Rota Virus 1 and 2 vaccinations.
Doctor Urang called on Rivers people, especially nursing mothers to report any government facility that demands for money for vaccines for appropriate action.
The call by the Primary Health Care management board comes after a nursing mother in Port Harcourt complained that she was asked to pay twelve thousand naira for each of the vaccine in a state government health facility even while the state government was yet to roll out the vaccine.
