Spokesperson of the state Commissioner for Information, Dornubari Kinee in a statement made available to City News said it amounts to deliberate mischief or sheer ignorance for anyone to claim that the Governor Nyesom Wike led administration did not execute projects under FG’s jurisdiction that would make it demand refund.
“While no one can deny the fact that the administration of Rotimi Amaechi did venture into projects that are under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government, it is either a deliberate mischief or sheer ignorance to claim that this present administration didn’t execute projects under FG’s jurisdiction that would make it demand refund.
“Some of the federal roads that the Wike-led administration intervened are: rehabilitation of Airport Road; reconstruction of Igwuruta-Chokocho Road; rehabilitation of Eleme axis of East-West Road, to mention but a few. Don’t also forget that Eleme Junction flyover constructed by Celestine Omehia is included as part of the three flyovers FG recorded for the reimbursement. So how come you are claiming that Amaechi did all the projects that warranted the refund?” Kinee asked.
The Federal Government yesterday listed Rivers among 4 other states to benefit from N148bn earmarked for refund of funds expended on construction of federal roads within their jurisdiction.
