Rivers State Government accused of deliberately delaying the trail of OJUKAYE FLAG-AMACHREE.

The former council chairman who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress is facing multiple charges of murder and attempted murder before the State High Court in Port Harcourt.

However; the Court of Appeal Division in Port Harcourt has fixed 19th September to take arguments on applications on the OJUKAYE FLAG-AMACHREE? murder trial.

The Appellate Court set the date after regularizing applications by both parties on the question of jurisdiction and bail for the accused person.

Justice M.L GARBA, who presides over the Appeal Court Panel, declared that the court was willing to give the matter speedy consideration.

Reacting to the development outside the courtroom, one of OJUKAYE’s lawyers, SEBASTIAN HON observed that the case was being deliberately delayed by the state counsel.

On his part; counsel to the Rivers State Government, GODWIN OBLA said the court has been diligent in handling the matter despite being on vacation.

Our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA reports that OJUKAYE FLAG-AMACHREE was not brought to court when the latest decisions were taken.
