The RSU branch of ASUU announced the resolution after a meeting between the leadership and all the lecturers.
The ASUU Chairman, SUOBERE PUYATE, who briefed newsmen after the meeting, said all state branches of ASUU were given until Wednesday to join the industrial action.
Other lecturers who spoke with our correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA said the strike was necessary.
Our correspondent reports that all academic activities at the Rivers State University would remain grounded during the strike.
