The complaints are mainly coming from Obio-Akpor and Ikwerre Local Government Areas that were visited by our correspondent.
One CLINGTON CHINDA from Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area said it was wrong for the state government to mandate the host communities to pay security guards of the Model Primary School in the community.
CHINDA told our correspondent that the various families in Isiokpo have been levied one thousand naira each in order to pay the security guards.
On his part, PETER JOHNSON who spoke to our correspondent from Rukpokwu in Obio-Akpor, said the PDP administration in Rivers State should see the Model schools as government property and take full responsibility of their funding.
Our correspondents have been trying to get clarifications from officials in the Rivers State Ministry of Education on the purported transfer of security responsibility of model primary schools to the host communities.
