Rivers Sole Administrator Urges Ikwerre People to Own Electoral Process

The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete-Ibas, has called on the people of Ikwerre Local Government Area to take ownership of the electoral process.

He made the call on Tuesday during a stakeholder meeting at the council headquarters in Isiokpo, which was attended by security agencies and other groups. Represented by the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, Ete-Ibas commended the decision to convene the meeting, describing it as a step towards strengthening democracy.

Earlier, the Administrator of Ikwerre Local Government, Isaiah Njobuawu, stressed that peace building is essential for stability and progress. He urged residents to come out on Saturday and vote for candidates of their choice.

The meeting was attended by traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, women representatives, and political stakeholders in Ikwerre Local Government.
