.The State Comptroller of Prisons, IFEANYI AMALIRI, said ninety-five percent of the prison inmates who are from Rivers State were yet to feel the impact of the government under the leadership of Governor NYESOM WIKE.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA, AMALIRI said the Port Harcourt Prisons is battling with over population.
The Prison officer noted that the facility, which was designed to accommodate eight hundred inmates, now has over four thousand prisoners.
The Comptroller of Prisons also wants the Rivers State Government to initiate human development programmes to prepare inmates for life outside prison before they are discharged.
