The man, simply identified as Jeffrey, was detained by detectives attached to the Amadi Police Division.
Jeffrey, who has a tailoring shop in the estate, allegedly lured his landlady’s daughter to his shop one evening in the guise of showing her a dress.
It was gathered that the man locked his shop, overpowered the teenage girl and defiled her.
The suspect was arrested after the teenage girl informed her mother, and medical examination conducted on her confirming her allegation.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the arrest of the suspect, adding that he has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and possible prosecution.
