Rivers PDP Suspends Caretaker Chairman Robinson Nname-Ewor Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Robinson Nname-Ewor as Chairman and member of the party’s Caretaker Committee over what it described as alleged destructive moves against the party.

The decision was announced following an emergency meeting of the PDP Caretaker Committee held on Saturday in Port Harcourt.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, the committee reaffirmed its loyalty to the Turaki-led faction of the party, insisting that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory remains expelled from the PDP and that any form of alignment with him is unacceptable.

Speaking on behalf of the committee, the Secretary of the PDP Caretaker Committee, Ogbam Ojimah, who has been appointed to assume the role of Chairman, said Nname-Ewor effectively relinquished his position by aligning with an expelled member of the party.

Ojimah further stated that former Rivers State Governor and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has no right to interfere in the internal affairs of the PDP.

The Caretaker Committee also dissociated itself from recent claims attributed to Robinson Nname-Ewor, describing them as personal opinions that do not reflect the official position of the party in Rivers State.
