Rivers Govt Urges Healthy Lifestyles as World Diabetes Day is Observed

As the world marks this year’s World Diabetes Day, the Rivers State Government has urged residents to follow medical advice and adopt healthy lifestyle practices, including regular exercise and routine medical check-ups.

The call was made by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Chidima Oreh, in a broadcast from Port Harcourt on Thursday. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing quality and accessible healthcare services to the people of the state.

Dr. Oreh also highlighted that medical personnel across Rivers State have received specialized training in diabetes management to enhance the quality and timeliness of care for patients.

World Diabetes Day, observed annually on November 14, aims to raise awareness about diabetes and its complications. This year’s theme is “Diabetes across Life Stages.”
