Rivers Govt Trains Accountants on Transparency and Innovation

As part of efforts to promote accountability, transparency, and innovation in resource management, the Rivers State government has concluded a four-day capacity-building training for accountants drawn from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

Speaking at the close of the programme, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, retired Vice Admiral Ebok-Ita Ekwe Ibas, said the training was a strategic intervention to strengthen the competence of the state’s financial managers. He was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibiba Lucky Worika, who commended the organisers and facilitators for their dedication.

In her address, the Acting Head of Service, Dr. Inyingi Brown, expressed gratitude to the Administrator for his unwavering commitment to workforce efficiency and transparency.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Lauretta Davies-Dimkpa, thanked the Administrator for supporting and approving funds for the training, while appealing to the government to provide laptops for the accountants.

On behalf of participants, Margaret Jack-Adebisi appreciated the Administrator, organisers, and facilitators for what she described as a rewarding learning experience.
