Out of five governorship candidates who made the list for the programme, only Patrick Tonye-Cole of the All Progressives Congress, Magnus Abe of the Social Democratic Party and Beatrice Itubo of the Labour Party were present during signing of the peace accord and the debate.
Recall that the Chairman of the Debate Group, Ibifiri Bobmanuel, had during a media briefing in Port Harcourt, said the candidates will be made to sign a peace accord.
On the penalty for candidates who fail to show up, Bobmanuel said any of them who fails to show up will be doing himself or herself a disfavor.
Meanwhile, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic party in Rivers State, Siminialaye Fubara was conspicuously absent from the governorship debate organized by the Rivers State Governorship debate group.
Also absent was the governorship candidate of Accord Party, Dumo Lulubriggs.
Both candidates were among the five governorship candidates invited for the debate which was held at the presidential hotel in Port Harcourt.
No reason was given for their absence.
