Briefing newsmen at the FRSC State Command, the Sector Commander said police assaulted some corp marshals around Amadi Ama area of the Rivers State capital while they were doing their lawful duties.
AYO KUMAPAYI said it was unusual for such incident to happen, stressing that it was the responsibility of the police and the armed forces to protect the personnel of unarmed agencies, like the FRSC.
Our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA reports that the Acting Commissioner of Police at the River State Police Command, AHMED MAGAJI has assured that the policemen involved in the incident would be identified and punished.
